Today, in this day and age, there are more millionaires and
billionaires walking around than has ever existed before in history.
People are getting filthy rich everywhere you look. You can't turn on
the TV without seeing actors on TV sitcoms or dramas pulling down
millions per year. You see movie trailers of famous actors promoting
their latest blockbuster film. Then, you have young kids like Justin
Bieber on posters and wall calendars and t-shirts. It seems that kid
just suddenly appeared out of nowhere. One month nobody had even heard
of him and the next month he's everywhere! Now, obviously, he has tons
of fans so some people had heard of him, but old guys like me had never
heard of him before (I, personally don't listen to his music), and then
suddenly I saw him everywhere I looked. Love him or hate him, he was
right there in our faces.
But, money isn't just being made by
actors and performers. Look at that kid who invented Facebook. Facebook
is Free for anyone to join and connect with friends from all over the
world. Did I mention, it's free?! And yet, Facebook is now worth
Billions! Yes, that's Billions with a "B". Holy crap, that's a lot of
money!
There's money being made with Apps for iPhones and with new technology created every few months.
It
seems if you have talent, good looks, or are smart enough to come up
with some new technological program, app or social medium than crazy
success and piles of cash are sure to follow.
On the flip side,
there are a lot of angry people out there in the world, because they
don't have any talent to act, sing, dance or have the good looks people
would be willing to pay good money to see. They don't have the smarts to
invent a social network or create some latest coolest software or app.
There
are millions who are being left behind, working at low paying jobs,
angry that they are in the have-not group instead of the have group.
They see people getting rich and living that fabulous life that they
crave, yet they feel powerless to achieve.
So, then we have people
feeling worthless, depressed and hopeless. The gap between the haves
and the have-nots grows wider every day.
So, what is my point? Am I
just here to stick my finger into the sore spot of the hopeless and rub
their faces into their lack of success? In point of fact, I am. I want
to wake people up!
See, I believe everyone has something to offer.
Even if you can't sing or dance or are smart enough to invent the next
big thing. We all have something to offer.
I started off this
article by stating that there are more millionaires and billionaires
walking the earth than at any other time in history. It's not like we
live in a communist country where there are no opportunities for anyone.
We don't live a few hundred years ago where life was hard and very few
people achieved any degree of success.
Opportunity is everywhere,
if you'll only stop feeling sorry for yourselves and try some things.
Focus on what you can do instead of what you can't. Think of ways you
can help other people. Think of service businesses that you might be
able to start: Mow lawns, do yard work, walk dogs, shop for people, fix
computers, etc.
